Description
A high-protein, guilt-free frozen treat made with frozen bananas and cottage cheese for a creamy, soft-serve texture.
Ingredients
Scale
2 large frozen bananas, cut into chunks
½ cup low-fat cottage cheese
1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder
1 ½ tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (for chocolate flavor)
2 teaspoons pure maple syrup (for chocolate flavor)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1–2 tablespoons peanut butter or peanut butter powder
½ teaspoon instant espresso powder
1 tablespoon chocolate chips or cacao nibs
Instructions
- Combine frozen banana chunks, cottage cheese, protein powder, cocoa, syrup, and vanilla in a high-powered blender.
- Add any additional flavoring agents like cinnamon, peanut butter, and espresso powder.
- Blend on high, stopping to scrape down sides as needed, until the mixture is smooth and thick.
- Fold in chocolate chips or cacao nibs by pulsing the blender a few times.
- Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Freeze for approximately 4 hours until firm.
- Rest at room temperature for 10 minutes before scooping and serving.
Notes
- Do not use fat-free cottage cheese as it results in an icy texture.
- If the blender feels stuck, use a tamper or move ingredients manually; avoid adding water.
- For a vanilla base, double the vanilla extract and omit cocoa/syrup.
