Description
A creamy, dreamy homemade ice cream with over 16g of protein per serving. Made in 15 minutes with frozen bananas, protein powder, and nut butter for a healthy, fitness-friendly treat.
Ingredients
Scale
2 frozen bananas (peeled and chopped into chunks)
¼ cup dairy-free milk (e.g., unsweetened almond milk)
2 Tablespoons almond butter or peanut butter
1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
½ Tablespoon chocolate chips or cacao nibs
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- For Chocolate Flavor: Add 2 frozen bananas, ¼ cup dairy-free milk, 2 Tbsp almond butter, 1 Tbsp cocoa powder, and 1 scoop chocolate protein powder to a high-speed blender. Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Fold in chocolate chips or cacao nibs.
- For Vanilla Cinnamon Flavor: Add 2 frozen bananas, ¼ cup dairy-free milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and ¼ tsp cinnamon to a high-speed blender. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately for a soft-serve consistency or transfer to a container and freeze for 15-20 minutes for a firmer scoop.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Ensure bananas are fully frozen for the creamiest texture. If your blender struggles, let frozen ingredients sit for 2-3 minutes to soften slightly. For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter.
